ICT Extention Year 3 and 4

Week 9 - Final Week of Term 1

Well its here the last week of Term 1, wow!

The children are finishing off all unfinished work this week. The Year 0/1 explored Photo Booth today. They had a lot of fun there was plenty of laughter and questions during their time exploring a range of photos.

The Year 3/4 have been completing their Comic Life posters. They look fantastic and the ones completed have been printed off and displayed in the ICT lab. Here are a few examples from each class:

Week 8 - Extention Photos

Here are some pictures of the children creating their brochure. They are drawing their own pictures on Kid Pix. They were not allowed to copy and paste pictures from the internet. They have had a lot of fun creating their own pictures.

The maintenance children are still working on connecting to the server and saving documents to the server using their class log on. Here are a few pictures of the Year 1 children learning about the server.

Week 8 - Year 0/1 Kid Pix

Welcome to Week 8

We are all becoming very good at using Kid Pix to create a piece of amazing work. We have learnt a lot since the beginning of the term.

Year 0

We had to use the pencil to draw closed shapes. We then used the paint tin to fill in the shapes. The teachers helped us to write our names using the text box.

Year 1

Today we are putting all of the skills we have learnt together to create a fantastic picture and we are going to try to add a sentence about our picture. Our teacher will type the words for us as we tell her orally what we would like to say. We had to try to draw a picture rather than just shapes. See what we did...

Week 7 - ICT Extention Year 3/4

Today the Year 3/4 extention children worked on their pictures for their brochures. They have to draw all their own illustrations for their brochures. They are using Kid Pix to draw the pictures then exporting them so they can use them in Comic Life as images.

Week 7 - Year 0/1 Kid Pix

Welcome to Week 7

The term is disappearing fast. Its hard to believe we are into Week 7 only 3 weeks to go until the holidays.

This week we will be using Kid Pix to create our own pictures. We will recap our new skills so far such as using the pencil to create a picture, changing the colours, filling shapes using the paint tin, inserting text using the text box.

Week 6 - Year 3/4 Google Earth

The plan for today was to complete our Comic Life posters. However due to technical difficulties and our technician being absent we had to think fast and come up with a new plan.

So we explored Google Earth. The children loved doing this they had a lot of fun finding their own homes and then traveling to some very exotic places. They were very keen to explore landmarks from all over the world.

To install Google Earth is easy:

Click: Download Google Earth 5

Wait for it to download and then just drag it to your desktop and your away.

It was fantastic to see the children so enthusiastic and excited about exploring our world.

Week 6 - Year 0/1 Kid Pix

Welcome to Week 6.

This week the Year 0 and 1 used Kid Pix to further our skills. We recapped on using the text box to write our names. We used the pencil again to draw a picture. We also had a play with changing the colours.

We learnt something new today that was to fill in a shape with colour. To do this we used the pencil to create a shape that was closed such as a circle. We then used the paint tin to then fill our shapes with a variety of shapes and colours. We had fun doing this.

We need to remember that our shapes need to be closed they cannot have any gaps or the paint tin wont fill it.

Have a look at the Year Ones awesome Kid Pix drawings. They had to draw a closed shape and then fill it using the paint tin. They then typed their names.
